The song White Christmas was written by Irving
Berlin for the holiday merry musical Holiday Inn in 1941 and
was recorded by Bing Crosby in 1942 and it went on that
year to win the much deserved Academy Award for best original song.
It's first public performance was by entertainer Bing Crosby on the
NBC Broadcast.
Kraft Music Hall on Christmas day in 1941 it spent 11
weeks on the top charts and in the holiday seasons of,1945,1946,
and it's sold over 50 million copies and was the theme song for the
holiday film White Christmas..
